How can I purchase an SSL certificate?

To purchase a Domain SSL, Organisational SSL or EV SSL you will need to do the following:

a) If you are purchasing an SSL certificate to use in conjunction with a Donhost Hosting package:

  • Login to your Donhost admin control panel at cp.donhost.co.uk.
  • Click on Web.
  • Click on SSL.
  • Click on Install Personal SSL

b) If you are purchasing an SSL certificate to use in conjunction with a Donhost Reseller package:

  • Login to your Donhost admin control panel at cp.donhost.co.uk.
  • Click on Accounts.
  • Click the Edit link corresponding to the required SSL domain name.
  • Click on SSL.
  • Click on Install Personal SSL.

c) If you are purchasing an SSL certificate to use in conjunction with a Donhost Dedicated Server:

  • Login to your Dedicated Server control panel.
  • Click on SSL Certificates.

Follow the on screen instructions to purchase the SSL certificate desired.

If you have ordered a Domain SSL, in order to obtain your SSL certificate, you will now need to go through a security check known as 'Approver Email'.

Select one of the approver mails listed in order to receive an approver email. You will have the choice from:

  • admin@
  • administrator@
  • hostmaster@
  • postmaster@
  • root@
  • ssladmin@
  • sysadmin@
  • webmaster@
  • info@
  • it@

Please note: If you do not have one of these email addresses set up for the domain name you are purchasing the SSL certificate for you will need to set one up.

An email is then sent to the address you have selected.

Select the link within the email to complete your order.

Important: If you are purchasing an Organisational SSL or an Extended Validation SSL (EV SSL), you will be contacted by GlobalSign (our partner and certificate issuer) via the contact information you have provided during the purchase procedure to complete your order. Please be aware that GlobalSign's vetting procedures are compulsory and their ruling in the matter is final.

Please note: If you are purchasing an SSL certificate for a Donhost package that you do not have root/administrator access to, we will automatically install the certificate for you. If you do have root/administrator access, you will need to install the certificate yourself.
