This article explains use of the PIN number to increase the level of security on your hosting account.
This article applies to Shared Hosting, Reseller accounts and Dedicated Servers.
Your account PIN number provides an additional layer of security for your credit card details and sensitive information.
You will be required to enter your account PIN number each time you make a purchase via your control panel or perform a sensitive action such as releasing a domain name to another host.
This ensures that in the event of another party acquiring your control panel password or accessing a computer where you have omitted to log out of your control panel, they will not be able to make online purchases in your name.
Tip: Retaining a private PIN number allows you to give other people, such as your web designer or employees access to your account, without allowing them to make purchases.
